As far as your web experimenter is concerned the Canby Fire Department wins Best of Show with their entry.
Cutsforth’s 2026 Canby Cruise-In
By my count, Rose City Thunderbirds and Vintage Thunderbirds clubs together had nine entries in the 2026 Cutsforth’s Canby Cruise-in on August 29th. The show was limited to 750 cars this year. RCT entries included three 1957 Thunderbirds, two Retro-Birds, and a 1963 Ranchero (John Calkin). One of our members, Michael Walsh (Starmist Blue ’57), missed our meet-up as the staging time and location was changed by the event at the last minute. Accordingly he was parked in another location. Also, Mike Hinsch was there with his 1957 Chrysler 300 C and was parked elsewhere. The blue Corvette (T-Bird wanna-be?), at the left end of the group photo, was already parked in our designated area when we were brought in. I am aware that one of our members backed out due to the early morning rain. I might have backed out myself had it been raining when I left home. I did not encounter any of the wet stuff until over half way to the meet-up location. Since my normally warm and dry car was already wet, I decided to gamble and keep going. Fortunately, it was very light misty-rain and did not last very long. No harm done. The rest of the day was ideal car show weather. Together with VTCI, RCT had purchased a trophy to be presented. The trophy was awarded to Luke Youngberg and his family's 1956 Mercury Monterey. It is a car his grandmother had when she was first married. Luke and his wife have had this car in a drivable restoration and are enjoying it with their young son now. The Blue Camaro in 3rd photo below is a Tribute Car to honor fallen Police Officers. I'm quite sure those Swing-Up doors are not original. Maybe it was a confiscated car from a major drug dealer.
