On Saturday, May 18, 2024, nineteen members and guests gathered at the Tollgate Inn in Sandy, Oregon to start off our May event. Jerry Sharp arranged and hosted this month’s event. Jerry was joined by several members of his family. Some of us enjoyed a late breakfast; for others it was an early lunch. The weather forecast called for the possibility of light rain in the afternoon, and it was a chilly morning. Even so, there were a few of our Classic T-Birds, as well as a couple of Retro-Birds in the parking lot. Following the meal and some socializing, we headed north a few miles to tour Jerry Logan’s Car Barn, a collection of some of the most amazing cars we will ever have an opportunity to see. Many are highly and beautifully modified, including the incredible “Copper Cadillac,” commissioned by and built to Jerry Logan’s specifications. Some of his cars are nearly unrecognizable from their original factory configurations. Collection owner Jerry Logan wowed us all with stories and answering questions about many of the cars in his roughly 110 car collection, about 93-95, he said, were currently on display in this beautiful private museum. Or Car Barn, as Jerry calls it. Jerry said he has been building this collection for over 40 years. Incidentally, we did encounter a few light raindrops for a few minutes during the drive home.
